I am a Brisbane-based scientist with a not-so-secret life as an artist.
After studying Ceramics at the Australian National University’s School of Art, my creative energy is now focused on developing my drawing skills and exploring the freshness and spontaneity of ink and watercolour painting.
A large variety of local wildlife is abundant in our lives, particularly in Brisbane where green space, backyards, and parklands are incorporated into our city and suburbs. It is this natural environment that greatly inspires my art practice and the brilliant colours and forms of spectacular Australian birds are common themes in my artwork. As well as their inherent visual beauty, birds are a familiar part of everyday life and my artworks bring a sense of connection to the fauna and flora that surrounds us.
